1 Choose your PDF

Ordinary, unencrypted PDFs only. File contents are checked. Interactive forms and certified documents must be exported as flattened, unsigned copies first.

2 Choose your pages

Use printed PDF page positions, starting at 1, rather than labels printed within a page. Requested order is kept: 5, 1-3 puts page 5 first. Duplicate pages appear once. Ranges must go forwards.

    This is a page-order preview, not a rendering. Page content, dimensions, crop boxes and rotation are copied without turning pages into images.

    Splitting is not redaction or sanitization. Annotations and referenced objects can retain data. Bookmarks, attachments and other document-level features are not copied. Review downloaded PDFs before sharing.

    Your PDF stays with you. Processing happens in a local worker. No document is uploaded. Remove your file or leave the page to release retained data and download links. Output uses generic title and creator metadata.

    1. Choose a document

      Open a PDF within the size and page limits. Check the page positions in your PDF viewer first; a document’s printed page labels may differ.

    2. Pick the pages

      For example, enter 2-4, 7 to extract a three-page chapter and an appendix. Enter 7, 2-4 if the appendix should come first.

    3. Choose a download

      Keep the selection in one PDF, or make separate single-page PDFs in a ZIP. Your original PDF remains unchanged.

    Questions about splitting PDFs

    Does splitting reduce image quality?

    Pages are copied as PDF pages without rasterization or added image compression. Existing text stays text. A scanned page remains a scan; this tool does not perform OCR.

    Can I extract a password-protected PDF?

    No. Encrypted files, interactive forms and certification dictionaries are rejected. Export an unencrypted, flattened and unsigned copy you are authorized to use.

    Why did extraction stop?

    The limits are 20 MiB input, 200 source pages and 60 MiB total output. Separate-page mode allows 50 selected pages. Inspection times out after 30 seconds; extraction after 60 seconds. Cancel terminates the processing worker.

    How do I join the pages again or save images?

    Use Merge PDF to combine documents. To turn pages into PNG or JPEG files, use PDF to Images.
